Postdoc position at the University of São Paulo
We are a research group at the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) working in Nuclear Physics, with a focus on center symmetry, the chiral phase transition, and fundamental problems in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). The postdoctoral position is linked to the project entitled "Many-Body
Physics Dynamics", which aims to investigate the properties of strongly interacting matter under extreme conditions of temperature and density. The project includes the study of QCD phase transitions, phase diagrams, and theoretical and phenomenological models applied to nuclear physics and astrophysics.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field, obtained no more than seven years prior to the application date, and have a solid background in quantum field theory, nuclear physics, and hadron physics. Previous experience in QCD, effective models, phase transitions, and
analytical and/or numerical methods will be considered an asset. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research independently and to interact actively with other members of the Group.
The postdoctoral fellowship is funded by FAPESP and offers a monthly stipend of R$ 12,570.00 for an initial period of 12 months, renewable in accordance with FAPESP regulations. The fellowship includes a Technical Reserve and additional benefits as specified by FAPESP rules.
Interested candidates should send their CV to Dr. Airton Deppman at deppman@usp.br by April 15, 2026.
