Dear Sarah,

As is now customary, the CINP and IPP will be hosting a joint session on the
first morning of the CAP Congress. This year that will be at the University of
Alberta on Monday, June 15. We are inviting NSERC to arrange for two
presentations as follows:

1) The first is the traditional presentation by the Chair of the Subatomic
Physics Evaluation Section which covers SAPES results and news from NSERC. This
year we also look forward to a discussion on the application of
conflict-of-interest guidelines as they pertain to SAPES. We have allocated 35
minutes to both the presentation and questions & answer session. Given the
community’s interest in COI guidelines, we suggest a 20’ (presentation) + 15’
(question+discussion). Please confirm that the SAPES Chair will be able to
attend and give a presentation.

2) The second presentation is to be given by the incoming Chair of the Long
Range Planning Committee. This will include the charge to the LRPC, its
membership, and timeline. We have allocated a 20’ time slot for the LRPC
Chair, which is to include time for questions and discussion. Please confirm
with us that the LRPC Chair will attend and give a presentation as well as
provide us with the name of the incoming Chair.

For your information, the joint session schedule is planned as follows:

As the meeting gets closer we'll set up an INDICO page for this session and
would ask you to provide a copy of each of the slide decks before the
presentations so they can be made available to the participants during the
session.

We are looking forward to seeing you, and the two NSERC presenters, in
Edmonton,

Michael and Garth
