3. Finance Report (Greg)
   a) status of NSERC and Private accounts as of March 31, 2022
   b) update on member invoices paid to date
   c) Need a motion to approve the FY21 financial statements to be
presented at the Institutional Members meeting on May 17
   d) Motion re Appointment of Auditor
      - Dudley & Company LLP
        #100 - 225 13th Ave
     Regina, SK S4P-0V6

GHa: Preliminary statement for 2021-22. Not yet audited.
NSERC account OK. Not many travels took place in the last year.
Private account: In trouble. Need to get more institutional fees before we need
to pay Garth's salary to Regina in July.
Prepaid expenses: 1/4 of Director's salary (6k) plus 1/12 (1k) grad scholarship
   that was paid in May.
Accounts payable: Need to put in 3.5k as expected AP. Last year's webpage fees
   were not paid.
Need to pay 2 years' amount.

Split up travel into scientific travels (Conferences, JSci, etc) and business
travels.
That's what the auditors wanted.

Net asset looks OK, but Private account is in the red right now.
The main issues is auditor's fee (3.3k/year). Need to pay previous years' fees.
About 4k/year deficit was planned into the 5-year plan.
We are not actually in the red, but we will be in 7 years without new
institutional members.

Motion to approve: JM
Second: GG

GHa will put "UN-audited" water-marked on every page.

Motion to recommend the Auditor (Dudley & Company) to the institutional
  members: RK
Seconded: SJ

113 - Jason Park (Temporary Foreign)

GHu asked Park whether he is coming back within 5 years. Not very likely.
Motion to renew Park 1 year by GG
Seconded: RK

      - Remove
        072 - Jens Dilling (TRIUMF)

Jens has taken a permanent position in the US.
An associate member can have 5-year grace period but not a faculty member.
GHu will reach out to Jens and ask if he wants to be an associate member so
that he can keep his membership for the customary 3 year period (can be
renewed).

Move to approve the list: (except Jason and Jens) - RK
Second: JS

   b) Request from Iris Dillmann for travel support for IUPAP C12 meeting

GHu: This will exhaust that part of the budget (5k for international travels,
   until March 31st, 2023).
$1.5k is requested by Iris.
This is not her personal research work. We can support her travel there only
for IUPAP business.

Motion to approve: SJ
Second: JM
No abstentions nor opposed.

   c) Update regarding CINP events during CAP Congress week

This was covered in item 7.

   d) Undergraduate Research Scholarships competition summary

Received 8 applications. Will award 6. If we do not receive
many qualified applications, we might reduce the number in future.

   e) Graduate Fellowships competition summary

Received 10 applications. Two will be awarded.
GG: All strong applications. Rationale for awarding additional award is good.
EDI statement was required, but was not explicitly listed in award criteria.
6 criteria listed, but EDI is not one of them.
Used a workaround ("overall completeness of the application package").
We need better wording: GHu and GG will work on that.
For instance, preferred pronouns -> Delete "preferred". Pronouns are not a
preference.

Two recipients:
Fatemeh Gorgannejad (Manitoba, supervisor: Wouter Deconnick)
Adam Powell (Calgary, supervisor: Timothy Friesen)

   f) CINP May Newsletter

GHu: One page article by the 2021 graduate fellow received last week.
Will ask 2022 recipients for short descriptions.

6. Other Business

RK and SJ terms are ending. The will have a discussion with their institutional
reps.

8. Adjourned at 14:00 PM
